Amber has over 15 years as a strategic HR leader. As a people champion and business partner she has provided workplace wellness programs to national organizations and has overseen Leadership development programs, employee engagement initiatives and change management programs. Amber is most passionate about bringing teams together as an engaging facilitator and believes the benefit of being in the HR space is knowing we are continuously learning and growing and reminds those she works with how to be receptive to change, increasing one's resilience and supporting growth at all levels within the organization. Outside of work, Amber loves to have adventures with her husband, two daughters, along with working her athletic dog, exercising and enjoys taking cooking classes.

Carly Holm, CHRL

Founder & CEO (Ottawa-based)


Carly founded Humani HR in 2018 after spending almost a decade in HR at Fortune 500 companies. What she loved most about supporting executives as an HR generalist was seeing first hand how prioritizing people and culture positively impacts the growth of the business. After leaving the corporate world, Carly began her consulting company with the mission to one day create the workplace she longed to work for, while supporting organizations in doing the same. Carly quickly learned that there was a gap in many small-medium sized businesses - they needed strategic HR support but most did not have the resources to bring a seasoned professional on board. By providing strategic HR services on a fractional basis, Carly was able to add value to her clients and see their businesses soar. In late 2019, the business made its first hire and since then has experienced continuous success. Outside of work Carly enjoys spending time with her husband and 3 young boys, cooking, skiing and has recently taken up golf!

Chantelle Perry, MBA, CHRL

Senior HR Business Partner (Toronto-based)


Chantelle brings more than a decade of strategic human resource management experience working with companies experiencing rapid growth and transformation, including professional services, manufacturing, engineering, technology and not-for-profit sectors. She is accomplished in establishing and expanding HR departments from the ground up, managing the balance between strategic objectives with operational priorities. Chantelle’s passion is people, meeting them where they are at, supporting them and their teams to be their best, achieving fulfilling and profitable outcomes. Outside of work Chantelle loves being with her family, seeking new adventures, enjoying great company and surrendering to the present.

Jeena Mistry, CHRP

HR Generalist (GTA based)


Jeena is an HR Generalist with a passion for helping people, and a desire to positively influence, inspire and add value to the lives of our clients and their employees.

Jeena thrives in fast-paced environments, both in large or small teams, and enjoys learning something new every single day. Her education and career stems from love for HR, Business, and Communications. Jeena believes people are at the heart of any organization, and is committed to helping organizations create HR programs and policies that help businesses and people grow together.

Her professional interests include mentoring younger HR professionals and being a continuous learner. Outside of work, she enjoys strength training, hiking or camping in the great outdoors, travelling, dancing, reading, and spending quality time with my family and friends.

Jess Kitchen

Senior Marketing & Communications Lead


Jess is a senior communications strategist with a passion for helping clients uncover the most compelling, human-centric elements of what they do so they can build authentic connections with their audience. 

With more than 9 years of experience, she’s worked in multinational agencies in both Toronto and Australia, and has serviced a diverse portfolio of clients across a variety of sectors including financial services, travel, transportation, education, FMCG, property and government. 

Outside of the office, Jess is Mom to two young daughters. She loves cheering on her Toronto sports teams, listening to a good podcast or playlist on Spotify, and staying active outdoors with her family.

Jess Wharram, CHRP

HR Generalist (GTA based)


Jess is a true HR Generalist, comfortable working behind the scenes or in the Boardroom, and supports both first-time and senior-level executives in developing and executing their HR vision.

Jess has experience working in both provincial and federal sectors, managing Labour and Employee Relations, wellness initiatives, health and safety programs, and full-cycle recruitment efforts.

Outside of work, you can find Jess exploring the local hiking trails with her husband, hosting board game parties with friends, and trying to keep her new puppy from digging in the garden.

Joanna Rozycki

HR Coordinator (GTA based)


Joanna has spent a number of years working in the financial industry, but has always been drawn to the HR function, raising her hand to support a variety of initiatives including employee rewards and recognition, diversity, training and development, and workplace health and safety. Having worked and lived abroad, Joanna has a huge appreciation for organizations that value their employees, and is committed to helping clients build long-term relationships with employees through trust, transparency and professionalism.

Outside of work, she loves spending time with her husband and 2 young kids playing outside, and exploring her city and the world when possible. Joanna is also passionate about photography and freelances on the side.

Kyla Gorgon, CHRL

Senior HR Business Partner (Toronto-based)


Kyla is a seasoned strategic HR partner and people leader with strong business acumen and a proven track record of fostering solid relationships with her clients. With over 13 years of HR experience in marketing, media and packaging, Kyla excels in optimizing processes and translating business needs into actionable HR objectives. A true generalist, Kyla's experience spans all aspects of HR from employee relations and culture to talent acquisition, change management and health & safety. Kyla enjoys helping organizations realize their goals by fostering strong and compassionate leaders and developing curated people strategies. Outside of work, Kyla enjoys yoga, pursuing her passion for baking and experimenting with new recipes and spending time with her husband and preschooler.

Laura Maddison, MBA

Senior HR Business Partner


Laura brings more than two decades of HR experience to her role as Senior HR Business Partner. She has worked nationally and internationally and in both the profit and not-for-profit sectors. 

A true generalist with a passion for people, she enjoys supporting businesses to create and maintain places of work where people are excited by their job and happy to be a part of the organization. She does this by offering strategic support to leaders to cultivate a positive and open work environment, where employees feel valued and a part of something bigger.

Outside of work, she is a mom of boys and enjoys spending time with family, friends, and her dog, as well as travelling, music, good food and drink.

Lauren Downie

HR Business Partner


Lauren is a Human Resources professional with over 5 years of experience. She has experience in the entire employee lifecycle, from onboarding to offboarding and everything in between. She enjoys working on any HR project that comes up, specifically working on policies and HR systems.

Outside of work, Lauren enjoys spending time with family, binging crime shows, watching the animals that pass through her yard on a regular basis, and finding new quick and easy recipes to try.

Nicole Dube, MBA

Senior HR Business Partner


With a strong background in HR and Consulting, Nicole has over 10 years of experience helping to plan and deliver people strategies for organizations of various sizes and across multiple industries.

Through her experience and education, Nicole truly understands all aspects of business, and can quickly identify the needs and complexities within an organization, helping leaders make the best HR decisions to support both their employees and company goals.

Nicole is a true generalist with experience in all functions of HR. She’s also a Prosci Change Management Certified Professional, and applies change management principles throughout all her HR practices.

Outside of work, Nicole can be found hiking a trail somewhere on the East Coast with her dog Luna, chatting and laughing with family and friends around the dinner table, or trying (and sometimes failing) at DIY projects around her house.

Rumana Nadeem

HR Business Partner


Rumana is an HR Business Partner with more than 7 years of Human Resources experience. She has worked at large multinational corporations and supported unionized and non-unionized environments within Canada and the USA. Rumana takes a straightforward approach to aligning business strategy and Human Resource practices and programs. She is drawn to the areas of Employee Relations Management, Health and Safety and Performance Management.

She is passionate about HR data analytics and implementing enhanced Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) that aim to transform the workplace into a more tech savvy collaborative environment.

Outside of work, she loves to read, travel and practice mindfulness by being still with nature.

Sarah Howes

HR Generalist


Sarah is an HR Generalist with more than 5 years of experience helping dynamic and growing organizations create positive and effective workplaces. 

With a strong background in the not-for-profit sector, Sarah’s areas of expertise include talent acquisition, performance management, leave management, and HR Software administration. She also brings with her experience in Total Rewards, helping attract and retain top talent for her clients. 

Outside of the office, Sarah enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, playing board games, and spending time outdoors.

Zoi Callahan

Office Manager


Zoi is Humani's Office Manager. Her passion is to cheerlead others on and help them propel forward in their endeavors. With over 20 years of experience from working in the corporate world to working with one-on-one clients as a life coach, Zoi’s mission as Office Manager is to uphold Humani's values in creating wholesome work environments. Her focus is set on streamlining procedures, practices and communication.

Her interests are in human behaviour, creating healthy "work-life" balances, interpersonal relationships, instilling strong core habits and beliefs that motivate the individual to set the goals they have set for themselves in their day to day life and in their place of business.

Outside of work, Zoi likes to spend time with family, friends & her fur babies. She also enjoys latin dancing, cooking, the latest shows & movies, everything outdoors and curling up to a good book and a glass of Pinot Noir.
